Writing and baseball ... is there a better combination?

Steve Crescenzo and Jim Ylisela, also known as Write & Rewrite, present Write & Rewrite LIVE ... Chicago style!

In their new one-day workshop, Writing Across All Media on Wednesday, June 29 in Chicago, they'll make sure you leave with an editorial plan for your biggest writing challenge at your organization AND you'll also leave with a ticket to the Cubs game that night!

Ok, let's tackle one thing at a time ... what's this new workshop all about?

For today's writers, one style definitely doesn't fit all. Are you crafting an in-depth story on the web, with links and audio sidebars? (Be sure to write a short, compelling headline and blurb to get readers to click through.)

Or are you writing a two-page spread in the company quarterly, with vivid photos, great graphics and compelling storytelling? (Don't forget to drive readers online to watch a video or submit their ideas.)

Today's communicators are writing blogs (and training executives to do the same), producing video and online radio stories and sidebars, posting targeted messages on Twitter and Facebook - all while maintaining their web sites, intranets and print publications.

All of these forms demand a distinctive kind of craftsmanship. And the decision to pick one medium over another is far from arbitrary.

In this fun, practical, fast-paced, one-day workshop, Write (Steve) and Jim (Rewrite) will show you how to:

  • Transform your communications department from a funnel pumping out every content request to a filter making good decisions about what to write, how to write it - and what doesn't make the grade.
  • Create a "news desk" to decide which channel a piece of content belongs in - print, online, social media, audio or video, e-mail or face to face.
  • Change your web (or intranet) writing style to adapt to dramatic changes in the last two years.
  • Compose an effective blog that will draw readers and inspire comments.
  • Master the art of Print 2.0 - and give your publication new life.
  • Make the best use of Twitter's 140-character limit - it still demands good writing!
  • Write for podcasts and other audio channels, which are fast becoming the most popular corporate communication tools.
  • Write for video, to create stand-alone video stories that go beyond "talking heads."
  • Draw a crowd around typically boring corporate topics and initiatives by telling those stories across various media.

In fact, bring those boring initiatives with you, because everyone who attends this workshop will leave with an editorial plan to tackle those topics - across media!

But, that's not all you'll leave with ... you'll also have a ticket to the Cubs game that night!

Your registration INCLUDES a ticket to the Chicago Cubs game on June 29!

Yep, that's right. When Write & Rewrite host their workshop in their hometown ... they do it RIGHT! Join us at beautiful Wrigley Field the night of the workshop ... the ticket is on us!

We have a total of 35 tickets that are available on a first come, first serve basis ... so register early! As long as we have them, everyone that registers will receive one ticket ... until we run out.

So what are you waiting for? Summer in Chicago, focusing on writing AND baseball ... all at a reasonable price. It doesn't get any better than that -- We hope to see you there!!
